How to Treat a Chipped or Broken Chomper

Posted .

Your teeth are extremely important, especially when chewing, talking, and even smiling. This can make chipping a tooth extremely nerve wracking and troublesome. However, there is no need to worry. Our dental team has the training, experience, and skills needed to fix your chipped tooth and restore your oral health. But, in order for us to do so, there are some things you need to do to improve the situation, and we are happy to tell you all about them.

First, call our office and schedule an emergency appointment with Dr. Michael Hall. The sooner you can get into our clinic, the better. When you come into our office, make sure to bring the pieces of your tooth with you. This means when you break your tooth, you need to save as many pieces as you can and keep them in a safe place.

Second, control the bleeding and reduce the swelling. You can control the bleeding by applying a piece of gauze pad to the area until the bleeding stops. If needed, feel free to replace the soaked pad with a new one when necessary. You can reduce swelling by placing an ice pack or cold compress outside of the cheek or lip that is near the injured area. This can keep the swelling down as well as relieve pain.

Doing these things can help you increase your chances of success when treating a chipped tooth in Bend, Oregon. However, these tips might not be very helpful if you don’t quite understand. So, if you have any questions or if you need additional help, please don’t hesitate to call Central Oregon Dental Center at 541-389-0300. Our dental team is more than happy to help you in any way we can.
